The Epic Of Egerszegi, Krisztina Egerszegi, legend and all that, went under to shiny suits in 2008. Now its gone at home too: 2:06.62 had stood ads the world record between 1991 and the first ever world record in a polyurethane suit, Kirsty Coventry the ace wearying it that day in February 2008 that alerted those sitting up and paying attention to a new presence in the pool. Katinka Hosszu is the new Hungarian record holder: 2:06.18

Wonder if she had asked Laszlo Kiss – the national coach and Egerszegi´s old coach – for “permission” 🙂

The 200BK has been THE event upon which Franklin has been able to mark her “ownership” over the past 4 years.

She’s still a very major factor and must never be underestimated but she’s going to dig extraordinarily deep for this one.

Hosszu looks to be mounting the strongest challenge she’s yet faced. For her first “Major” 200 foray, Seebohm is certainly well in this.

The rest are really looking a level below.
