Andrea Vergani left his teens behind last year – and today, he left the rest of the best Italian dashers behind in the 50m free as Italian Spring Nationals got underway in Riccioni: up to global No 2 so far this year, no less – 21.7.. And Domenico Acerenza and Simona Quadarella claim distance freestyle crowns, he on 3:46 over 400m, she on 8:25 in the 80m, both into the 2018 world top 5.
