At 56.26 over two laps at the Swim Open in Stockholm this afternoon, Sarah Sjostrom gave her rivals around the world one more reason to strive for the future realm the Swedish sprinter has carved out on butterfly these past four and more seasons. She now heads for the defence of the world crown she claimed in a then world record of 55.64 with a new status in tow – on several levels.
