A deal designed to continue to support the Potsdam swimming excellence performance centre has fallen through. The German swimming federation (DSV) failed to reach a deal with the Brandenburg swim authorities over “personnel decisions” for the centre, the DSV’s choice of 1991 world 1500m freestyle champion-turns coach, Jörg Hoffmann, rejected by the local powers that be.
