Isn’t thorpes 3:40:08 fastest in textile?

Craig Lord

Yes. I took the reference from another piece I’d written a while back that was relating prevailing events to the suits swaps and changes… a clarification has been added. Many thanks

Paul

I think we would all love to see Park clash with Sun again. Tactically Park is very astute if not quite as good as Sun, so he could always cause an upset.

The 400m textile WR point is an interesting one. I’m of the opinion that Thorpe’s suit gave him negligible advantage and may well have hindered him, given what we know about suits now. It was the presence of polyurethane as the ‘active ingredient’, that was the key thing. We can see this in the clear ‘dose dependent’ response going from 50% poly (LZR) to 100% (X-Glide etc).

I also agree paul, no matter what people say about thorpes suit, I reckon it did give an advantage
