One To Watch: Nicolò Martinenghi, Born As Fioravanti Fired, Sets World/Euro Marks

As the year comes to a close, Nicolò Martinenghi, born in 1999 as Domenico Fioravanti was preparing for what would be an Olympic breaststroke double at the 2000 Olympic Games, is stepping up. At Italy’s long-course Winter Open in Riccione this past weekend, he raced to a World junior record of 27.32 in the 50m breaststroke on the first day of battle and followed up with a European junior record of 59.89 (28.05) the next day.
