For Olympic 100m breaststroke champion Adam Peaty the emergence of the likes of Nicolo Martinenghi and Yan Zibei is a welcome one, the Briton believing it can push the sprint events to new heights as he continues his pioneering charge in Budapest later this month. Former double 50m backstroke world champion Liam Tancock has been named as one of 15 people on UK Sport’s International Leadership Programme (ILP) for 2017-19.
