The European 200m butterfly title will be won in a continental record time likely to deliver the first textile sub 1:52 effort in history come battle in Glasgow this August, predicted László Cseh after finishing third at Hungarian nationals behind a crown won in 1:52.71 by 18-year-old Kristóf Milák in Debrecen, Tamás Kenderesi in the middle of the two 1:52ers. Milák was surprised by his speed and says there’s more to come: “I switched on the extra gears only for the last 25, in summer I’ll do that for the last 50”

Kristof Milak will own the 200 butterfly. The only question is what will happen when he races Caleb Dressel head to head in the 100? I have no answer other than it will be a heart stopper. I can’t wait!
