When Ruta Meilutye, the Lithuanian Olympic and world champion over 100m breaststroke, jets off to Brazil from Britain tomorrow morning, she has two new experiences ahead of her: wearing the St George’s Cross for England (that’s the easy bit) and then slaying the dragon called “long-course 200m breaststroke” in international waters.
