Liu Xiang, not to be confused with the retired Chinese 110m hurdler who claimed Olympic gold, arrived at the 13th China Games with a 24.5 best over 50m freestyle. Today she left the showcase event in Tianjin sporting an Asian record of 24.04 and a dashing gold claimed in 24.07, the precise pace of Olympic gold in 2016.
