So, we arrive at the final day of the meet, the 400IM and 4x100m medley relays for men and women all done. Eight finals remain this evening before the meet is done. The big winners are already in: top nation, the USA; top woman, Katie Ledecky (USA); top man Caeleb Dressel (USA); outstanding performers of the meet – Sarah Sjostrom (SWE) and Adam Peaty (GBR). All big guns through on the last morning, barring Australia missing the men’s medley final. Beyond that: magnificent meet, pity about the poverty of leadership that has its grip on swimming yet. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas but winter is coming
