The four: Caeleb Dressel (USA), Sarah Sjostrom (SWE), Adam Peaty (GBR) – and the woman swimmer of the year with each passing season since, and including, 2013: Katie Ledecky (USA). Had Ledecky arrived in Budapest with no history, her efforts would have registered at the very top end of the aquatic Richter Scale
