Swim schism has struck Danish swimming after Jeanette Ottesen, the former world and European freestyle and butterfly champion, described teammate Pernille Blume as “lucky” to have claimed Olympic gold in the 50m freestyle. Ottesen was responding to media questions at the Danish federation swim awards midweek when she made her remark and said that there were others swimmers she was more inspired by.
