Come April on the Gold Coast, there’s every chance we might see a rippler of a race over 200m butterfly between the 2012 Olympic champion and reigning World champion Chad Le Clos and England’s James Guy, the World 200m freestyle champion in 2015. At a time of training, Guy was to be found practicing his race skills in what is a relatively new event for him. This evening on French Golden Tour in Nice, he registered a 1:57.46 over 200m butterfly, an event in which he could yet be a serious force to reckon with come the big occasion; Charlotte Bonnet takes a brace, on 1:57 in the 200m free and 25 float in the dash
