IOC/USOC Blazers Ring Blackmun With Olympic Wagons Before ‘Indy’ Inquiry

The U.S. Olympic Committee is standing its shaky ground under pressure from the media to explain what it intended to do about CEO Scott Blackmun’s response to sex-abuse complaints from USA gymnasts that were ignored at what we now know, in the wake of the trial and conviction of doctor Larry Nassar, to have been a high price for many athletes. IOC member joins the circle of Olympic wagons round CEO when, on the cusp of ‘independent’ inquiry she finds no neutral line between the victims and Olympians calling for Blackmun’s head – says, Anita DeFrantz, one of the two IOC members for the USA: “I’ve known him for a very long time. I thought he’s done a great job for us, and think he deserves to have everything cleared before we take any action. I don’t know what the investigation will show, but I’m pretty confident it will show he did a great job.”
