Semis: Franklin & Grevers To Defend Olympic Honour

The results of the semifinal heats suggest Missy Franklin has some stout competition to handle in the championship final of the 100 backstroke, as Emily Seebohm and Elizabeth Pelton are not far off the pace set by the reigning Olympic champion. In all likelihood, however, Franklin has yet to unload one of her epic performances.

Missy actually completely missed her start; She slipped on the pad, they showed the footage on TV just after the race, you can clearly see she has no momentum after her start whatsoever and yet she managed to win. So i’d say she is capable of way better in the final and a 58 low is totally gonna be there if she nails her race (start included 🙂 )

I just hope the battle is there and franklin doesn’t win by a mile (if she wins)!!
