Adam Peaty believes he is merely at the beginning of a learning curve that could last at least two more Olympics and another 10 years “before I know myself”. As he emerged from a world-championship that made him the most decorated British swimmer in history in global waters, combining Olympic and World-Championship medals, Peaty said: “Every year I’m just gaining experience. I don’t really fully know myself. I keep surprising myself and surprising myself.”
