Like many competitors at elite universities in the United States, Joseph Schooling has some well-defined – and lofty – aspirations. The 19-year-old from Singapore, from a short-term-goal perspective, is aiming for a podium finish at this summer’s World Championships. Down the road, he’s hoping to bring an Olympic gold medal back to his homeland.
