Ferry Weertman added the world 10km title to Olympic gold as he prevailed in a sprint finish on Lake Balaton, Hungary. The Dutchman had defending champion Jordan Wilimovsky, of the United States, and French 5km gold medallist Marc-Antoine Olivier for company in a three-pronged sprint down the final straight but he kept out of trouble on the right, hitting the finish pad with aplomb.
