Xue Yinxian, a former China Olympic team doctor, has alleged what will come as no surprise to any observer of Chinese sport from the late 1980s onwards: a State-operated programme resulted in the doping of 10,000 athletes, including Olympic squads in swimming and many other sports – and children as young as 11.
