As action got underway at Chinese Chamoionships and 13th National Games at the Qingdao City Sports Center Natatorium this morning, the question was the same as it has been for the past quarter of a century: will China ever learn? That Sun Yang* clocked 3:47.95 in the 400m freestyle to make his debut in the world top 10 lists this year, at No7, will come as no surprise. That Dr Ba Zhen** is there with Sun yet on the deck at the national championships is the thing that continues to place a question mark over Chinese Swimming’s seriousness when it comes to anti-doping
