The racing was tight, ten swimmers added their names to the world championships roster for Canada, there was new prospect aplenty but the second evening of world-title trials in Victoria suggested there is much work to be done; though both 4x100m free relays made the cut for world titles in Barcelona this summer, no woman cracked 55sec and no man broke 50sec in the solo 100m finals
