After four days of racing in Greve and various international engagements for the greater Danes of the pool, Denmark has selected a large team of 37 swimmers for a home European Short-Course Championships in Copenhagen from December 13 to 17. Heading the team are Olympic 50m freestyle champion Pernille Blume, European champion Mie Nielsen, world-record holder Rikke Pedersen and butterfly ace Viktor Bromer. One big name who will not be there, neither to race nor, perhaps to watch, is Jeanette Ottesen, who is due to give birth to her first child next month
