On the last day of German nationals and trials in Wuppertal, Paul Biedermann retained the 400m free crown, home pride and status with a 3:39.02 victory for 6th place on the season world rankings and just ahead of Tim Wallburger, 3:40.83 , and 19-year-old Florian Vogel, on 3:41.99; Steffen Deibler misses the time cut for 50m free at Euro s/c champs; and Therese Michalak sets the only German senior record of the meet with a 58.93 win over 100IM
