Britain’s Ben Proud brought the Uster International to a roaring close with a 21.52 blast in the 50m freestyle this evening. The time was, of course, a meet record – inside his 22.10 of a year ago – but more than that was also, like Canadian Kylie Masse’s 100m backstroke, the swiftest time ever seen in the first two months of any year in history
