Ben Proud blasted a 21.64 in heats of the 50m frestyle on the fifth and penultimate morning at the British Championships in Sheffield to take his career count of sub-22sec dashes to 25. The 22-year-old who moved to coach James Gibson at the Energy Standard SC this season, has only ever been faster once before: he clocked 21.54 to make the Olympic final and then finished fourth in 21.68 in his first ultimate showdown.
