Another news round up story fresh from Adelaide, Australia – Brianna Throssell showing good form in the lead up to trials. Throssell swam a 2:06.60 in a 200m butterfly time trial at the 2015 South Australian State Championships.

Thanks for the update pertriafan.. We need more 200 flyers badly.. I wonder what has happened to Ellen Gandy?? She was the great big hope this time last year but she had totally disappeared after Glasgow.. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has somehow retired

Craig Lord

Thanks Petriasfan … I now have the full results… 2:06.63 was for freestyle in heats (1:58 in finals) not ‘fly, in which she clocked 2:21 … only swam heats of 200 fly.

Craig Lord, according to the meet mobile app, event 205 (Day 2 finals) was a “women 200m fly time trial.” Throssell was the only swimmer to swim the time trial. She had 100m splits of 1:01.25 and 1:05.35 respectively.
Verram, I don’t where I read this, but not long ago I read somewhere that Gandy had retired. Apparently she retired shortly after Comm Games.

Thanks Petriasfan… yes, I see it… I’ve asked for confirmation that the time trial was official – its not on the full meet results sent to me by Swimming Australia …

Craig, has Gandy really retired? Pretty sad.
Also, did I see that Ieuan Lloyd did a 2:01 in the 200 medley. I don’t see it in your rankings?

Cameron Brodie’s time in the 200m butterfly men is interesting. Anybody knows more about Mr. Brodie? Was he at the Commonwealth games? I think Roberto Pavoni, the most frequent representative for Great Britain in this race has never gone faster, but I might be wrong. For those so knowledgeable on what’s going on in Australia, any comments on Alicia Coutts and Blair Evans?

Craig Lord

for33: Roberto’s best is 1:56.10; and Cameron has a 1:56.59 from Commonwealth Games last year.

Thank you Mr. Lord for the information. The 200m butterfly is one of my favorite races!
