2:09 Gauntlet From Sydney Pickrem & Other Speedy Warm-Ups From Kalisz & Co in Austin

Sydney Pickrem - by Scott Grant, courtesy of Swimming Canada

Double World medley champion Chase Kalisz followed up his 4:10 blast over 400IM at the Pro Swim Series in Austin with a brace of wins on a second day of action that produced the first sub-2:10 200m medley of the year among women, courtesy of Canadian Sydney Pickrem. In April as the Commonwealth gathers Down Under, however, Pickrem, at college in the U.S., will bypass what would have been a fine battle with Olympic silver medallist Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, of England. For similar reasons, there will be no clash of Joe Schooling Vs James Guy – who shared world-til;es bronze over 100m last July – Vs Chad Le Clos, because the 2016 Olympic champion from Singapore is also bypassing the Gold Coast.
