Brazil will miss the final altogether just like so many times in the previous years if they stubbornly choose not to swim Cielo in the prelims again.

aswimfan,
Cielo is NOT training for 100 free.It will be hard for him to break 49 right now.The turns affect his knees(like his starts, but that is unavoidable). He is doing a tenth of training comparing with last year.

As for the Aussie’s, Targett is a proven relay performer and shall (will) be granted a relay spot over Kenneth To. The middle swimmers for Australia always tend to swim 47.8 at best. We need our boys swimming at least 47.5 to have a chance at retaining the gold. Question to think about – where do we place Magnussen? I feel we get the same out of him up front as we would on anchor, probably a few tenths slower. I say put him up front.

All national teams have completed their qualififiations, what would be the prospective quartets for the 4×200 m relay ?

Craig Lord

… coming your way…

The Russians are going to be near, if not the gold medal favourites. Andrey Grechin swam a 48.05 for the opening leg in the relay heats at 2013 Universiade.
