Could Scotland and the EU be granted Olympic status by 2024?

Deep in the detail of Brexit negotiations – Britain’s exit from the European Union, scheduled for 2019 after two years of settlement talks – is an intriguing question in the realm of sport: an EU request for Olympic status in which each member state would include the 12 yellow Stars of Unity in their flags for the Games and an EU tally added to the medals table as early as 2024, when the Olympics may return to Paris after 100 years. A vote could be taken as early as April 1, 2021
