Good 200 times, but expected a lot more from Izotov.

Russia who could be a contender on 4×200 won´t cut with these times.

Morozov 50 free was great, but if he was tapered his time won´t make the time needed for medal against Manadou Cielo and Fratus tapered (sub 21,4 probably for all)

The women medley relay is good, but Ustinova is not as good as Zueva, and the Fly leg disappointed a little..

The men medley which could be bery good will suffer from the weakest breast leg of all the teams who can qualify for final..

JOSE

I think the Russian swim team will have an advantage this year for being at home. I believe Russian swimmers still have another qualiying event before the world cup. “The Russian cup final stage in june’
Does anyone think the Lovtsova will be a threat at the world cup even if she is allowed to compete?

Craig Lord

No, Jose, she’s not in the medals zone as things stand, she’s just a lot further up the ranks than she’s ever been.

Rafael

Craig, that wasn´t Lovtsove second offence with suspensions? By the rules 2 suspensions should not be equal as ban?

Craig Lord

Rafael:

Lovtsova – Nov 2007 – 2 years suspension (Morphine)
Lovtsova – Nov 2012 – 2.5 years suspension (Methylhexaneamine)

This preceded the current WADA Code but yes, under FINA rules in late 2012, a second offence could have resulted in a ban of up to four years, so 2.5 was lenient in itself.

Francene

Why are you ever allowed to compete again if you’ve tested positive? That means you are cheating intentionally, and unless you can show beyond reasonable doubt that it was not intentional, you don’t belong in the sport.

Also, all of your training using the PEDs has made you better… and you are forever better than you would have been b/c of it. Therefore it is not fair to others that you are ever allowed back in the sport.

Anyone know how long post-partum Fesikova is? Could be she’s got room for improvement this year if she’s still in the process of regaining pre-baby fitness.

Wirotomo

@beachmouse:
On December 23, 2013, swimvortex post about Zueva’s pregnancy. So I think the baby born in July-August 2014.

Craig Lord

Yes, Wirotomo and she has been following a training plan either side of the birth that was discussed and charted by the team at ADN in Italy. To get back a minute-point is very good in the time-frame she’s had.

Francene, if such PED makes me forever better and there would be no dangerously harmful consequences I will vote for those drugs with both my hands. It’s like a dream comes true for the human race – perpetual youth. If it does harm badly then it would be enough punishment for those morons for the choice they made. I agree that it is not fair to prohibit such wonderful peels if they are harmless. Let make them affordable and let’s use it. You probably don’t know much of what you are talking about. Sorry for being that rude, but cannot stand it.
