Vladimir Morozov - by Patrick B. Kraemer

Hard to say its been a good season for Trojan in California, what with the Yuliya Efimova case on its hands in the wake of several other mistakes that led to doping suspensions, but at Russian Swimming Championships in Moscow today the California crew was in focus, Vladimir Morozov the first inside 48sec in the 100m free this year, Efimova on 2:22 in the 200m breaststroke

Unfortunately we won’t know about US relay potential before summer.
And what about the french relay? Manaudou, the european champ, did not swim the 100 free so far this year in LC. Will he be part of France relay? how much can he help his team?
Definitely, summer is going to be hot!

Yes, anan, lots of variables and nowhere near the picture we might expect, as yet.

The year until now has been very slow.. I thought we would have a much cleaner picture..

The Only bets I would have now:
Finalists: US, Brazil, Russia, France, Italia, Australia, the medal will be between these 6. China, Germany and Japan will probably duel for the other 2 spots for final..

Good to see Morozov back to sub-48 form. I hope he can get back to if not surpass his 2013 times after an off 2014 LCM season!

The Russian 4×100 medley is starting to take shape.

I am quite sure that, given the history of Russian butterfly, and a solid 100 breast, we will see a combined time that sits at the top of the white paper preceding Kazan.

I would not be surprised to see Morozov split a 58 or 59 breast 100 breast off relay. I’m not sure what the Russians have as far as breastrokers but they sure have plenty of freestyle options. With a 52 high 58 high 50 mid 47 low your a medal contender.

Australia’s hopes for the 4/100m just got lower after the Russians posted three of the world’s top 8 best times for the year. Cameron McEvoy has also lost his number one ranking to Russian Vladimir Morazov.

C, I think caution is required with any relay reductions and solo 100m swims too: in 2013 and 2014, the best Russian 100m swims of the far came from domestic and lesser intl moments no the big one of the year. That scenario is not confined to Russia. Potential is good for discussion – but it will come down to the day, as ever.

I am sorry, it is hard for me to get excited for these fast swimming

luigi

Do you mean you have doubts on Morozov, aswimfan?

aswimfan

Funny that you mentioned Morozov.

I’ve just remembered that he is a Russian elite swimmer and he trains at Trojan Swim Club.

I am not saying I have doubts on Morozov, though.

luigi

got the message, aswimfan …
