USOC Selects Boston as American Bid City for the 2024 Summer Olympics

In what can be considered somewhat of a surprise, the United States Olympic Committee selected Boston on Thursday as its bid city for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Los Angeles, which previously hosted the Games in 1932 and 1984, had been viewed as the leading contender, but Boston got the nod from the USOC board.
