USA Olympic Trials: Can Any Match Michael As Phelps Flies For A 4th 100 Crown In Rio?

U.S. Trials - a spectacular not to be missed. Omaha calling: Michael Phelps was the man to match in the 100 'fly at USA Olympic trials, with Tom Shields, Jack Conger and Ryan Lochte among challengers for two berths in 2016 and while Phelps made it it would be silver in Rio, the glory left for the 200m and one of the stories of the swansong Games of the GOAT [images by Patrick B. Tom Shields’ transformation from short course specialist into long course top contender really surprised me, because for a pretty long time the gap of quality between his SCY fastest swims with his LCM times were really huge.

His preserverance is really to be commended and it speaks volumes about the quality of his current coach (is it still Durden?)

And forget about Lochte in 100 fly.

felix,

I don’t know what you mean.
I never intended to compare Shields to Phelps. I was only saying that Shields’ transformation into LCM swimmer is amazing.
Also, I said forget about Lochte means that Lochte is no where near the 100 fly top competitors.

As for Le Clos, you can search what I kept saying about him since 2012 in this sites or other swimming sites and you would know that I always believed Le Clos to be able to beat Phelps’ textile best in both 100 and 200 fly.
