Melanie Marshall celebrated a triple triumph as Great Britain’s swim coach of the year at the weekend when her peers at the BSCA voted her top mentor for the third season in succession. It was a no-brainer: Adam Peaty, Olympic gold in a world record of 57.13sec in the 100m breaststroke. It was the swim of the Olympic Games, the global standard that topped them all on points, the Beamonesque bounce that produced the biggest winning margin over two laps on breaststroke in the modern era of Olympic Games.
