The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. All Swimming Australia is doing here is pumping more money into the 15 best clubs in the country. Good article in the Australian paper on Saturday.

The top 15 clubs? Look at the list, NO they are not! Are you aware of the criteria, the process?

As for the good article? Sounds like a supporter of someone bitter they didn’t get the top job. What the sport in this country (AUS) needs to leave the self indulgent I know all egos at the door and work together. Sweetenham, who in that article, has been given way toooo much credit for stuff he didn’t do, either supports or walks away, Not talk smack from the sidelines. He also needs to stop riding Talbots coat tails, he put swimming in a hole in the 80’s, Talbot got them out.

Good on SAL & Michael Scott for their hiring of Coach Jacco and bring on 2014 for Aussie swimming.

Swimming Australia is a collapse waiting to happen. The only thing holding it together is the talent in swimmers, and there is many. Australia produces more talented swimmers per capita than any other nation. But somehow the governing body F*#ks it up every time. This is the example right here. Australia was ever about individual programs. When Talbot turned swimming around it was through a combined effort. Majority of swimmers from the team represented different home programs and getting their coaches on the team provided education and integration into the system, returned to their home program to produce more champions. This will limit coach education and exposure, effecting the next generation of swimmers. It is a nasty domino effect. More talented coaches with knowledge the better the next group is. It was Don’s theory all along and it worked. Why do Australia need to redesign the wheel at every turn?

This selected program crap was done in NSW over the past 10 years and we have seen swimmer numbers onto the team suffer. It was the leading state with swimmer numbers on the national team, clearly that is Queensland now and deservedly so. Now the Australian approach!!!! Good to see Australian swimming has the intelligence to see past mistakes and make the appropriate changes needed…… Not! Nothing changes!!!!!!
