This morning’s line-up: the women’s 50m freestyle, men’s 50m backstroke, women’s 50m breaststroke, 4x100m mixed freestyle, men’s 1500 freestyle. Sarah Sjostrom, of Sweden, shook herself down down, dusted herself off after the sting of silver by a slither in the 100m freestyle to clock 24.08 in 50m free heats; and many-medalled Camille Lacourt (FRA) set off on his swan song mission in the 50m backstroke at 24.58, 0.04sec adrift Japan’s Junya Koga. Lacourt is making these championships his last. Lane 4 of the first heat of there 1500m freestyle is empty. Martín Naidich, of Argentina, was supposed to be in it.
