A finger-wagging Yulia Efimova* came within 0.01secs of the 100m breaststroke world record in 1:04.36 as Lilly King took note and Kylie Masse rattled the 100m backstroke mark, speeding through to the final in 58.18 as Monday’s semi-finals guaranteed emotions would be running high come finals time in Budapest. Xu Jiayu, Ryan Murphy and Matt Grevers all dipped inside 53secs in the men’s 100 back while Duncan Scott and James Guy head a British one-two into the 200 free final.
