Well the IOC need this like a whole in the head …..one of the core ingrediants of a successfull games is your village is comfortable for the athletes and in good working order…
Kitty has stated she hopes the team can enter the village Tuesday afternoon, since she has gone public she quotes as saying great progress has been made in the last 24 hours…
You just wonder who was given the job at the IOC of monitoring the Villages progress….
Apparently thousands of athletes are due today lets see what happens …..

There’e always security issues in all cities in the world……

Yes, asf, and especially during the Games – military during London 2012 did a world-class job all round. Hopefully the same in Brazil. The bigger issue for athletes is whether the toilets will work and whether they can get decent sleep and so forth. No village or accommodation should stand in the way of all the investment that has gone into making performance the best it can be on race day…

The Australians have agreed to move into the village on Wednesday this is despite 7 floors of the building still require work…..
This work beleived to be finished by Friday …..
A number of other countries have experienced issues but unlike the Australians moved in to the village with the work being done around them ……
The itilians actually hired there own pepole plumbers etc to get there quarters ready….
I can t beleive Kitty the head of the Australian delegation has come under scrutiny for speaking out , how long has Brazil had to get the village right its not if the date of habitation changed ……
She has the job of taking care of 410 athaletes who wants to be living in a building with blocked toilets ?????????????

Kitty Chillers should have just hired their own local contractors to finish the job.

i think when she went public and refused to move into the village it shook up the organisers and there building since Monday has been swarming with workers…..
i guess the main thing is the Aussies are moving in on Wednesday from what i understand there is not alot of Aussies in Rio yet ……..

Kevin, this is typical reaction: criticism of the person making perfectly valid comments in order to deflect attention away from those who created the stink, the mess, the necessity to stand up for what’s right. I hope Kitty ignores it. She spoke up for the athletes she has a duty of care to. Good on ‘er. Shame on the rest who put up and shut up. Cusp of a Games, with all the effort and energy and coaching and science and taxpayers’ and parental money and much else that goes into elite performance: the toilets, the living conditions etc should not be an issue in 2016. Perhaps we could ask the IOC board to house themselves in the village, too: only then will we see instant action, heads roll and ‘never again’ calls to action.

kevin roose

Yes Craig i look with interest on how she performs her duties lets hope she doesnt get called into action too many times……..
