In the wake of Jon Rudd‘s appointment as Swim Ireland’s National Performance Director, the partnership of Plymouth College and Plymouth Leander have launched a search for his replacement.

The braun-with-brain super setup is seeking “a World Class Director of Swimming to lead what has become, over the last ten years, arguably Britain’s foremost competitive swimming programme”.

The college and club note: “Based in Plymouth, Devon, we have approximately 250 swimming members (up to 100 of whom are based in the College) encompassing all ages and abilities including County, Regional, National, and International levels. We can boast Olympic medals and World Records from this programme with many of our athletes training each day in the £46m Plymouth Life Centre (10-lane 50m pool).

“This is a unique position enabling the successful applicant to not only work with the best Junior talent but a world leading senior programme.

A program that includes the likes of Ruta Meilutyte, the 2012 Olympic 100m breaststroke champion, and double Commonwealth champion for England in 2014, Ben Proud, an Olympic finalist just shy of the medals at his first Games in Rio this year.
