Reading The Runes. Through the years, the Santa Clara stop of the USA Swimming Pro Series has routinely produced high-quality results. It’s a scenario to be expected, what with the meet (which has gone by a few different names) annually featuring a loaded field. In 2015: Olympic champions Phelps, Franklin, Adrian, Coughlin, Ervin, plus Femke Heemskerk on a rare visit to the USA

Franklin is my biggest interest in Santa Clara. This will be her first LCM meet this year I believe?

Missy may even go sub 54 is my guess.

Hope we see a good 1back from NC and she continues to compete in that event.

I’d also like to see NC give the butterflies another try. With Dana Vollmer on indefinite maternity leave (she still showed up on the USADA testing list in 2014, so I don’t think she’s officially retired) and Kelsi Worrell’s long course fly a bit unertain, Natalie has as good of a shot as anyone for the American Olympic spots.

I was kind of disappointed she didn’t swim the 50 fly for selection purposes last year since the odds would have been good for her to get the event winner’s world championships spot and that would have put her into 4×100 FR consideration under the ‘any swimmer on the squad may be selected for relays’ clause USAS has for international teams.

Agree. Let’s see some fly too!

Nathalie Coughlin is not going to be in Kazan?
