Nicolò Martinenghi is getting on well with the morning at Italian nationals in Riccione this week. A day after he set a world junior and Italian senior record in the 50m breaststroke, at 26.97 to become his nation’s first sub-27 racer, he broke through the minute barrier for the first time in heats of the 100m for a 59.84 European and Italian Junior and a championship record.
