Only one man has ever been under the 1:51 mark in the 200-yard breaststroke, and now he’s accomplished the feat on four occasions. Wrapping up the Texas Invitational, Kevin Cordes blew away the opposition in the eight-lap event with a time of 1:49.38 on Saturday night. The time wasn’t far off Cordes’ record of 1:48.68, set at last year’s NCAA Championships.

I predict that Cordes will become the top 200 Breast swimmer in the world by Rio 2016!
I think by then he will be good enough, and experienced enough to be the World Record Holder in the long pool! I think he is good enough to swim in the liw 2:06 to upper 2:05 range!
Right now, if he shaved and tapered in yhe 25 meter pool, I think he would go under 2 minutes!

Before he beats Gyurta.. it will be just a prediction.. Cordes might be very talented.. but on the last years there was not a guy more “born” to swim 200 breast than Gyurta who since 13 years old was already World Class…

And on 25 meter Pool 6 of the top 10 Marks.. are from Gyurta also..
