So Cal Swimmer

So I assume she will not be returning to Colorado to train with Todd?

She hasn’t stated what her plans are yet. I think it would make sense to stick with McKeever through this summer and Kazan. Then assess her training options for the year leading into the Olympics after Worlds are over.

I’m far from being expert on this but for me it seems those college rules on receiving money treat athletes in different sports differently, even though they are the same for everyone on paper.

Many young females have many, if not all, of their best years at college age. Men tend to peak later but still early if comparing with many other sports.

Female swimmers may well, in practice, be the most discriminated group according to those rules.

Teri: She’ll never be the underdog again.

Bruce Gemmell: I’ll make sure she is the underdog again if I have to race her against the boys to do it.

Hey Teri congrats for making Franklin not a contender anymore. I will bet that she will never going to win 5-6 gold medals ever again. When she decided to compete in College, that was the beginning of the end.

pol, i’d be amazed if i was the ‘end’.

From what I heard Franklin ate like a college student living on her own for the first time. If that was even partially true, you would expect bad things to happen. I’m sure she is eating better this year.
