Mireia Belmonte Delivers A WR 4:18.94 Knockout To Katinka Hosszu Over 400IM

It was to be an evening of upsets as the Eindhoven leg of the World Cup brought the European stage of the series to a close this evening, Mireia Belmonte, of Spain, the headliner among turn-table results with a world record  of 4:18.94 over 400m medley.

If the Spaniard’s speedy catch-up on breaststroke delivered a knockout blow over Katinka Hosszu, champion Olympic, World and World record holder long and short-course over 200 and 400m medley against the tide and trend, then it took 24.54 for Ranomi Kromowidjojo to land a second winning punch in her dash battles with Sarah Sjostrom, this time by a margin of 0.01sec in the 50m butterfly
