Let’s see if ledecky breaks the OR in prelims or if she waits for semis and finals (to maybe even break the WR)

aswimfan

Missy Franklin might as well forget about defending 200m backstroke title, she has not returned to anywhere near her best.
Clearly it’s not just pressure. Something is amiss technically.

aswimfan

These are very fast 200 free prelims.

aswimfan

Super fast prelims.
It takes 1:57.7 to semis, in London it took 1:58.9

Eugene Chc

aswimfan, “pressure” is just another excuse from Schmitz, this man absolutely incompetent.

I am very sorry that many journalists continue to maintain this man, he will continue to destroy the career of other swimmers

Bad Anon

Ledecky, Sjostrom and Pellegrini will be in lanes 3,4,5 in semi final2… It’ll be the final before the final… Can’t wait!

aswimfan

I still hate seeing Le Clos looking left and right.

aswimfan

Kenderesi is looking dangerous.

Bad Anon

Phelps was conserving energy

I’ve said it about 100 times on here.. Missy is simply past her prime. Why is it so hard to believe? Meluityte also. Both swimmers who were much faster when they weren’t as physically mature. Now that they have matured more it has hurt them and no coaching/etc. is likely to change that.

Eugene Chc

yes, right after 2015 NCAA she past her prime.

aswimfan

Shiwen still finishes very strongly in freestyle.

Eugene Chc

Shiwen last 50 – 30.7, its not very strong

Blah Blah

Eugene Missy has been on the decline since 2014…

200 f/w

200 free, KL is going to smash it. A little bit sluggish after her 400 last night, you could see that in the first 75 meters.

Femke is no where near the force she was 12 months ago. A good showdown between the two stars of the womens show so far, sjoestrom and ledecky in the semi. Fede is always stalking that last 50 meters. We have seen her do it so many times.

200 f/m

All the big names through comfortably. The force that is MP doesnt look as threatening as he usually does. Chad le Clos looked comfortable but didnt explode nearly as much as his 200 free. Laszlo was just going through the motions and really came off the last turn with some force. He looks fantastic. No wonder he is the bookie favourite.

Tamas Kenderasi looked solid for pole position. His splits were consistent and his last 50m was strong. Its very much like his Hungarian nationals where he flew past LC in the last 50 2 years ago.

200IM/w

KH is in a league of her own. 1.1 seconds outside WR pace and a well trained breaststroke saw her swim just outside her WR and break the OR in the heats. She is going to be under 2:06 in the finals, her momentum providing her with a faster second half.

SMOC had a great heat, and looks a deadshot for second. I think she will enter the world of 2:07.

Eugene Chc

Blah Blah, and she not swim 1.39.1 in 200yard free in 2015.
I see result Schnitz with other swimmers, and they all afwul.
Give him a top swimmer and in one year will be mediocre swimmer at best.

Blah Blah

i don’t read into yard swims much…

Eugene Chc

Three months after NCAA 2015 I was shocked how bad she swam at Santa Clara, and then she trained with Schmitz only two monts.

John Lohn

Eugene, you clearly have something personal against Schmitz. Remember, he was the coach who led her to five Olympic medals – four gold.
