McCardel Hopes Tech Bubble Will Bite Back

Australia’s Chloe McCardel will be protected by neither wet suit nor cage as she sets out on a 170km crossing from Cuba to Florida today in aid of cancer research but she will swim in an invisible tech bubble to enhance her chances of survival: “We’re employing some amazing ecologically sensitive shark repellent technology. I’m confident that the provisions put in place by my team of scientists … will get me across.”
