Kylie Masse followed up a 58.21 World textile best in the 100m backstroke on the first day of action at Canadian trials in Victoria with a 27.83 in the heats of the dash the next morning – and the speed test kept rolling when Yuri Kisil chucked down a 48.68 gauntlet in the 100m free qualifier. And Penny Oleksiak goes 54.17 to warm-up for the 100 showdown
