Le Clos going 48.16 is impressive and puts him in the frame for Rio if he chooses to pursue the event. Has he any previous form in the 100m LC?

Re Thomas

He’s been 48.5 before. But given his 50.5, this isn’t surprising at all.

I thought World Cup is a 25m event? But judging from the time this should be long course pool instead.

Chad is doing 100 free? I thought he is a butterfly/IM specialist.

Lennart van Haaften

Le Clos is short course world champion is the 200 free so certainly not entirely unfamiliar with swimming freestyle.

Swimming LCM no easy feat, Hosszu has to work very hard for each win. clearly her superior turns and extra walls in scm allowed swimmers to maintain speed and handle bigger schedules with relative ease compared to lcm format. But the new format will prepare hosszu to really shine in rio, she’ll the hot favourite for individual medley honours

>”Russia’s Andrii Govorov won the 50 fly in 23.30″
He’s Ukrainian, not Russian.

I hope le clos can live up to his potential and his claim that he can break LCM WR.

Eugene

Chad should try to gain some muscle. He’s very talented but too skinny for sprint. Adding some power without losing flexibility would improve his 50/100 dramatically, IMO.
