If one of Katie Ledecky’s race is chosen then I will vote for the pair: semi and final 200m together. It was the only race we she was facing strong competition. The competition that involved all world elite swimmers who had guts and desire to claim the champion crown. The competition where practically all other finalists showed significant progress and personal bests during the season. The competition where she was hardly predicted to be at the podium. It was long two days drama with the culmination at first 150m at semi where she was seventh.
None of her competitors came up even close to their best times. If it wasn’t a coincidence and all swimmers were affected somehow then she was the only one who overcame such negative external factors showing personal best. Same way as it was with weather conditions at PanPac last year.
